Our Story

Rick and I LOVE dogs.  We would have twice as many as we do now if we had the space and the time.  I have been fortunate he has allowed us to have as many as we do!  He has a soft heart like I do when it comes to our babies.

Our pack started out with Dottie who Rick had before he met me. She is a 11 year old Rat Terrier and is the smartest dog.  I swear she knows English because she understands everything we tell her to do.  Rick has taken her everywhere including the beach, the lake, camping, hiking etc etc etc.  Even though she is the elder in our pack, you would think she was a young pup.  She still plays and runs with the rest of them and loves doing it!

I have always loved and had Dachshunds over the years.  After Rick and I got married, he surprised me by saying I could get a puppy.  The breed was a no brainer.  I wanted a wiener dog!  We found Daisy through a local family in Powell.  I have to say she is my baby.  She sleeps beside us at night and wakes me every morning with a gentle rub with her face on mine (like a cat).  We have a very special bond.  She is also the alpha in our pack.  She has a overbite so we had her spayed as we did not want to pass that on to puppies.

In 2008 we decided we needed a male.  I found a little black and tan male named Nugget.  He is very sweet and a bit timid but very laid back.  He kept getting tumors on him so we had surgery done to remove them and also have him neutered.

In 2009, I decided I would like to get a puppy to eventually breed (at the time to Nugget before he got the tumors) and I decided I would like to have a chocolate dapple.  We found Kenadee at Tasso Farms down below Sweetwater, TN.  She makes the most comical faces and loves to be held on her back so she can look upside down.  Our daughter Amanda loves her and wants to take her home all the time.

When we were on our way back from the beach in July 2010, I found a beautiful red pie-bald female on line.  I somehow talked Rick into letting me get her as I fell in love with her picture right from the start!

In October 2010 a fellow rabbit breeder friend of ours said her doxie just had pups.  I off handedly said if there was a pie-bald in the litter I was interested.  Yep you guessed it.  There was,  Rick reluctantly said we could have him.  We picked him up at a rabbit show in December 2010 and Rick loved him from first site.  Lil Mann is the cutest thing.  He is into everything as a puppy always is and a dominant boy especially when it comes to food.  Ha ha.  He is the first to want to eat and the last to leave the bowl.

September 2011 we heard about a male basset up for adoption that had been abused.  After hearing the horrible story of what he went through we thought we would see if he fits into our family as Rick always wanted a basset.  Toby is such a sweetheart and came to us housetrained and command trained but unfortunatly heart worm positive.  We are having him treated and had him netured.  He is part of the family now and quite the comedian!
